Welcome to Our School!

Oatlands Primary School is a mixed Catholic school, from Junior Infants to 6th class, and is under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST).
Oatlands was originally a Christian Brother’s school in the early 1950’s. In 1952 the Brothers sought funding from the Department of Education and in 1954 Oatlands Primary as it is now known was opened. The school initially catered for young boys from 2nd to 6th class. It was in 1995 that we saw the arrival of the first two classes of Junior Infant boys.
The school continued to grow and prosper. In 2004 Oatlands Primary proudly became a co-educational school, welcoming girls into all classes.
Oatlands Primary School is a direct feeder school for boys to attend Oatlands Secondary, which is on the same campus.
National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021
Oatlands Primary School received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to allow the students access to activities such as those to support numeracy, problem solving and computational thinking, activities to support literacy, and curriculum delivery of subjects such as history using digital storytelling.
